OG and Tundra Esports

Following the results of week 5, Tundra Esports and OG secured the first two slots in the Major. Both teams had only one loss out of 6 matches played, and they are considered the main protagonists of the league play.

Team Secret and Entity

With the end of week 6, it became clear which two teams managed to secure the remaining two slots. Team Secret and Entity finished third and fourth in Division I after defeating Goonsquad and OG last week, respectively.

The confrontation between TS and GS was one of the most interesting to watch. Both teams picked their comfortable heroes in both games. Team Secret went with Templar Assassin and Phoenix, whereas GS relied on Dawn and Phantom Assassin. However, the Swedish organization didn’t live up to the expectations since their efforts were not enough. Team Secret took the lead from the laning stage and was prevalent until the winning of the first game.

In game 2, the European team picked a similar draft to the previous game, but the situation was even better since they had Slardar and Puck, one of the most powerful hero combos. Though Goonsquad looked already much more prepared for the game, one of the deadliest duos managed to handle the Alchemist mid.

Eastern Europe

EEU becomes the region to have three representatives seeded in the Arlington Major 2024. This way, below, we bring the results of Outsiders, Natus Vincere, and Team Spirit, the three teams qualified for the upcoming tournament.

Team Spirit

Though there were a couple of matches in the last week of Div I, the series between Team Spirit and BetBoom was the one that everyone was excited to watch. Both teams had big potential and were among the main protagonists for the Major slots.

The action was wrapped up in three games, in which both teams showed great resistance. Whereas the first two games looked similar, the decisive game was epic. The start was not easy for the TI 10 champions because BetBoom had a better draft for the laning stage. Despite a comfortable 7k net worth lead, Spirit started building its strength in the late game. Thanks to the unstoppable Terrorblade, the players managed to win the series and secured a place for the PGL Major.

Outsiders and Natus Vincere

Following the results of week 6, Team Spirit, Natus Vincere, and Outsiders had the same win/lose ratio. Therefore, they had to face each other in the tiebreaker matches to determine the final order.

The confrontation between TI 10 champions and Outsiders was a bit shocking since both teams had the same potential to win the battle. However, Daniyal ”yamich” Lazebny and his teammates were victorious in the late game. After defeating both Team Spirit and NaVi, the Russian organization finished first in Div I. The final battle of the tiebreaker was between NaVi and Spirit. The Ukrainian organization had a fairly easy race, beating Team Spirit in two clean games.

Royal Never Give Up

During week 5, Royal Never Give Up became the first Chinese team to secure a place for the upcoming Major. Lu “Somnus” Yao and his team were too motivated to win the most important series of a league play. Hence, they finished week 6 with the highest 5-2 ratio.

Aster, Xtreme Gaming, and PSG.LGD

After the Royal Never Give Up team guaranteed first place in the standings, Aries, Xtreme, LGD, EHOME, and Team Aster had to fight each other for the remaining three spots. The first tiebreaker was between Aster and PSG.LGD. With the most comfortable Spectre and Enigma, Team Aster took an early lead and won a convincing 2-0 against its opponent.

After this quick deal with LGD, the squad continued its streak and defeated Xtreme Gaming in two clean games. Speaking of Xtreme Gaming, the team secured the third spot in Div I after taking down Aries and LGD.

BOOM Esports

The clear favorite of the SEA region was BOOM Esports which finished week 5 of Division I with the best win-loss ratio and the first spot secured for the Major tournament.

Talon Esports and Fnatic

As for the other two positions, Fnatic secured the second spot in the upcoming event, whereas Talon Esports couldn’t escape from the tiebreaker. It had to face BOOM in the Best of 3 games. As we expected, the match was close and lasted more than an hour, after which Talon won.
