Live streaming is something that needs to be done as it is now, and people are slowly starting to realize that making a living by streaming live video on Twitch, YouTube and even Facebook is a job – and it’s nothing to be ashamed of.
But there is only one device that counts: the device from which you transmit. And today I’m here to share with you the best laptops for live streaming on YouTube, Twitch or any other platform in 2024.
Until recently, it was very difficult to stream live video from a laptop due to the lack of processing power.
But with today’s extremely powerful laptops on the market, we have a range of live streaming options – and they’ll fit any budget.
Below are the best recommendations for you, in all price ranges, so you can start your live streaming adventure on Twitch or YouTube right away with a super laptop.
In general, the more you can spend the better, but we have cheaper options because we all have to start somewhere!
And to make things even easier for you, we recommend laptops with two different screen sizes: 15.6 and 17.3 – although these are less portable, they’re usually the best choice if you’re using them for live streaming, as you’ll need an extra screen for your games.
Pay attention: For those of you who are not tech-savvy, these are NOT laptops for streaming movies or TV shows from Netflix, Hulu, etc. While these products certainly can, you don’t need to spend as much if you just want to watch your favorite show.
These laptops are recommended for people who want to do their own streaming (mostly games) on different platforms. If you just want to watch movies, we have some cheap Chromebook recommendations for you.
With this in mind, here is a list of the best laptops for live streaming below!
Note to self: We receive commissions for purchases made through the links in this article.
If you’re in a hurry and don’t want to read the whole list, here are our main recommendations:
The best low-budget laptop for live streaming: Acer Predator Helios 300 (15.6″, i7-10750H CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, 512 GB SSD).
The best laptop for live streaming: ASUS Rog Strix Scar 17 (17.3″, i9-10980HK CPU, RTX 2080 SUPER GPU, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD).
Now let’s look at some of the details and the other options available to you!
Best 15.6″ live streaming notebooks
If you want some portability, a traditional 15.6 laptop is a good idea. These laptops don’t have a large screen (which can be a problem for things like games), but they do have a very decent cover.
Lenovo Legion 5
It is the cheapest entry on our list (at least at the time of writing) and provides a low-cost entry for future live broadcasters, while guaranteeing decent performance overall.
The Lenovo notebook is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H processor with 16GB of RAM and is equipped with a solid-state graphics card: The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660Ti, which can easily handle the most demanding tasks. It also offers a decent amount of storage – 512GB on SSD.
It may not be the best laptop for streaming, but it has the advantage of being the cheapest. It’s also great for streaming video, but if you plan on playing serious games, it won’t be able to play all the games at the highest settings.
But for an entry and a water test, it’s a very good choice. You can definitely start streaming now, and it offers good performance for the price. Below are the best options, but if you’re on a tight budget, you’ll have to make do.
It also has a nice screen, with a refresh rate of 144 Hz, which makes screen movement smoother and more pleasing to the eyes. It’s in Full HD, has some internal settings to prevent overheating and is overall a more than decent laptop.
The battery is not surprising, it lasts a maximum of 5 hours, but you’ll probably leave it plugged in the whole time, so it shouldn’t be a problem.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a backlit keyboard and it’s not the best laptop you’ll ever see, but it does the job, so if you’re on a budget, it’s your best bet.

Aker Predator Helios 300
(budget allocation)
The Acer Predator series is known to gamers for all the right reasons: It is offered at a decent price and offers amazing performance in return. The same goes for the Helios 300, which is one of the best laptops for live streaming in 2024 and offers a lot for your money.
It’s also a smaller laptop (15.6 screen) with a 10th generation Intel Core i7-10750H processor. A generation with 6 cores and up to 5 GHz, which is pretty impressive.
It’s a really solid processor, and I’m surprised to see it in a product that sells for such a low price, especially when paired with a great graphics card.
The GPU itself is an impressive GeForce RTX 2060 with 6GB of dedicated RAM. This is one of the best graphics cards you can get for a laptop right now, so you’re going to get a great deal!
Combine this with 16GB of RAM and you get a great mix for streaming your games on Twitch, YouTube or Facebook.
It also has a very nice screen with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a response time of 3 ms, which means your games will run smoothly and beautifully, and your eyes will be a little less busy too.
In my opinion, it is not much more expensive than the first recommendation and therefore it is a much better choice – hence the price of the best budget. So, buy that laptop if you don’t have a big budget.
It is also equipped with a fast SSD drive and offers 512GB. While it’s not ideal, it can still work if you don’t have a ton of games or content to store. If you do, you can always consider an upgrade, an external hard drive or even cloud storage.
Also remember that a lot of memory doesn’t mean much if the other specs are crap – and on the Predator Helios 300, they’re not!
It’s equipped with all the necessary features, including a backlit keyboard, multiple ports, and plenty of battery life, though you’ll likely leave it plugged in during transfers.
All in all, it is a very good laptop for live broadcasts at a very attractive price. It’s a bit bulky and heavy, but it does the job well, and I consider it the best deal on our list. So if you don’t have much money, opt for this one!

MSI GL65 Leopard
Another very good option for a streaming laptop. This model offers a small but significant improvement over the previous model. If you have extra money, it’s worth it.
Although it has the same processor as the Helios 300 (i7-10750H processor), it offers a more advanced graphics card, the GeForce RTX 2070 with 8GB of RAM. It really helps when it comes to streaming the latest games on the market!
All the specs are essentially the same as the previous model, including 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. The 15.6-inch FHD display also has a 144Hz refresh rate, which is exactly what you need if you plan on streaming live.
It’s a gaming laptop that looks really cool, with a backlit keyboard and a very nice overall design.
I also like that it has many ports, including an HDMI port (which many models are slow to give up) and a mini-DP port, a USB-C port, and three regular USB ports.
All in all, it’s a good device that offers a lot for the money and makes live broadcasting very easy, whether you want to broadcast games or other activities.

ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15
Now let’s talk about how to blow up the bank! We’re still in 15.6-inch territory, but the Asus Player Republican Log doesn’t hesitate to tell you exactly what it’s worth. And it’s not cheap, that’s a fact.
But it comes with specs that make your jaw drop. For starters, we’re talking about the Intel Core i9-10980HK processor, the best processor on the list.
It also has 32GB of RAM and an equally awesome GPU, the GeForce RTX 2070 Super with 8GB of RAM. These features alone make it a real workhorse when it comes to live broadcasts.
The ROG Strix Scar 15 also offers a large SSD storage capacity – 2TB to be exact – which should be more than enough, even in this day and age where you need more and more GB for every program you install.
But the candy doesn’t stop there. The display has a refresh rate of 300 Hz and a response time of 3 ms, so everything works perfectly and looks great.
It still doesn’t offer 4K resolution, but its small size means it doesn’t need it, and the FHD screen is really high quality, offering sharp and perfect images.
It has a backlit keyboard and all the useful accessories you can think of, including an internal cooling system to keep the temperature under control when things get hot.
It also has a large, perfect keyboard with no numeric keypad, which moves to the touchpad if you ever need it.
The only real downside to the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is the price, as it costs significantly more than the previous models I recommended.
This shouldn’t be a problem if you’re already doing well with your live show and can afford it. It’s even better because you get the best 15.6 laptop for the money.
But if you’re just starting out, we suggest you pick a different model and don’t ruin yourself for this one – unless you really know you can afford it.
It really is a great laptop, but if you’re just starting out, it’s best to start small and see if live streaming is really what you want to do and do it well. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to try things out.
In other words, it’s a great choice for those who can spend a little more money, but it’s not necessarily a must, especially if you’re just starting out.

Best 17.3″ notebooks for live streaming
For live streaming, a laptop with a large screen is the best choice. If you don’t really want a 15.6 inch model, then it’s best to choose one of the products recommended below.
Acer Nitro 5
We go back to Acer regarding budget options for live streaming, and the Nitro 5 is all you need if you don’t have a big budget.
The 17-inch Nitro 5 features a 9th generation Core i7-9750H processor. Generation (6 cores, up to 4.5 GHz), an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card and has 16GB of RAM.
The large screen is also very pleasant – with a 144Hz refresh rate, so everything looks smooth on the screen. You also get a backlit keyboard, dual ventilation to keep temperatures down, and multiple ports, including USB-C and HDMI.
The main disadvantage is the very low capacity: Only 128GB of SSD storage may not be enough for most people. So you will have to invest in additional storage, because the standard amount is simply not enough.
But if you’re okay with that (or if you don’t really need more storage), the Acer Nitro 5 is a great big laptop for live streaming.

MSI GS75 Stealth
This MSI model is probably the best option if you don’t have an unlimited budget, but you also want a laptop with a large screen that delivers impressive performance.
The GS75 Stealth is a really solid model that isn’t cheap, but isn’t very expensive either, judging by the technical specifications. It runs on an i7-10750HK processor, has an excellent GPU (GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q with 8GB of RAM) and 32GB.
All this, combined with 32GB of RAM, makes for a robust laptop that can handle any livestream or just about anything you send with ease.
The large screen also offers a 300Hz refresh rate, so even the fastest movements on the screen appear smooth and natural. The laptop itself looks great, has a backlit keyboard, and offers several ports, including two USB-C slots and an HDMI port.
While it’s not yet the best on our list in terms of performance, it’s a very good laptop that won’t cause complaints from most streamers.

ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17
(Editor’s choice)
If you’re looking for a sleek and awesome laptop that’s extremely portable (considering its size) but also offers stunning performance, look no further – it’s the perfect laptop for live streaming on Twitch or any other platform.
This booklet receives the Editor’s Choice Award based on a number of factors, explained below. It’s just the best option – but it’s not cheap!
For starters, it is equipped with the incredible 10th generation Intel Core i9-10980HK processor. Generation, which can only compete with its little cousin that we recommended earlier. One of the best processors at the time of writing.
But that’s not all, it also has a graphics card that we are very excited about: the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER with 8GB of RAM. He can really handle anything you throw at him, and will do it with grace and style.
It also has 32GB of RAM, which should be more than enough for most, and a very large storage capacity: 2TB on two SSDs. In fact, you don’t even have to think about improvements when you get this model!
The display is also very good, offering you solid picture quality and a refresh rate of 300 Hz.
We really have no complaints about this model, which is by far our best recommendation for live broadcasts.
It’s also very expensive, let’s say again: If you’re going to stream live, you might want to invest in one of the cheapest models and see how it goes. You can always upgrade to a great laptop like the Strix Scar 17 when the money comes in.

Conclusion
We have recommended 7 very powerful laptops, all of which are perfect for live streaming. We’ve also done our best to cover all budget ranges, so you’ll have a model as close to your budget as possible.
The golden rule here is that the most expensive models are also better, but don’t go out of your way to get the best: all of these laptops are really good!
And if you’re still not sure which one to choose, opt for the Budget Book or the Publisher’s Choice Book, depending on how much you’re willing to spend.
All I have to say is: Good luck with your streaming plans and you may have millions of subscribers and hundreds of millions of views in no time!
