I have tried and examined a number of TWS headsets and headphones. Especially since I’m almost constantly wanting to try out new headphones, it’s kind of an obsession. So when Bludio sent me the Bludio Hi Hurricane True Wireless Headphones, I had to try them out. Well, I have been using these headphones as my daily driver for about 2 or 3 days, so here is my evaluation of the Bluedio Hi Hurricane truly wireless headphones.

Bluedio is a brand of audio products of Chinese origin, known for its high-quality products at an affordable price. You can buy their products on their official online store with 20% off or you can also buy them on Amazon US, Amazon UK and Aliexpress for around $16.99.

Design, construction and comfort
At first glance you’ll notice that the Bluedio Hi Hurricane is inspired by Apple’s first generation Airpods, but it looks just like the AirPods, you don’t get that build or functionality here. So overall the design and build is decent and reasonably priced.
The earphones come with a plastic case that looks a bit cheap and fragile. The opening of the case is not tactile or does not seem strong enough to withstand repeated opening and closing, and there is no magnet, so sometimes you have to push it closed.
Also, the cargo box doesn’t have a magnet, so some pressure has to be applied to the earphones to get them in the right position. But don’t worry, thanks to the unique design it won’t fall out of the case even if you hold it upside down.
The best thing I have found is the lightness of these earphones, they only weigh 5 grams per earphone, even with a total weight of less than 40 grams, so carrying these earphones in your pocket is really an easy task.
When I approached the headphones, they looked a little big and bulky, and I doubted that they would fit in my ear and be comfortable. Fortunately, they turned out to be excellent in both cases. The lightweight housing and 120-degree tilted tips ensure maximum comfort.
They fit perfectly in the ears and do not accidentally fall off. The headphones won’t fall off even if you shake your head. So there should be no problem if you plan to use these headphones during your workout. There’s no label on the headphones, which is good for me. Each headset has a small LED indicator and separate multi-functional control buttons that allow you to control music and incoming calls.
The Bluedio Hi Hurricane is also equipped with a proximity sensor on the right side of the headphones that detects when the headphones are removed from the ear. As a result, content playback is interrupted. This can be useful if your friend asks you a question and you just want to give them a quick answer without losing track of the most important part of the song you’re listening to, and it also helps preserve battery life.
Overall, it’s a decent and comfortable helmet.
Connection, control and microphone
The Bluedio Hi Hurricane supports Bluetooth 5.0 and the communication range is about 10 meters, depending on the company. During our tests, we found that the range of the connections is good. The Mi AirDots Pro can only be connected to one device at a time.
There are two ways to pair them: either turn them on when you take them out of the case (using the headphone button), or press the button on the case to pair them without leaving the case. After pairing, the buttons are automatically reconnected to the device. You can also use these Bluedio headphones as single earphones (mono mode).
You can control music and calls with the multifunction button. When listening to audio applications, you can right-click once to play or pause a song, right-click twice to go to the next song, and left-click to go to the previous song. The downside, however, is that you can’t control the volume.
When you receive a call, you can press the key once to answer the incoming call or press and hold the key for one or two seconds to reject the call. The last control option is to press the button for 3-4 seconds for voice commands, it supports both Siri and Google voice support.
When you approach the microphone the quality is good, the sound is loud and clear, but at the beginning and end of each speech there was hissing and background noise. So you can use these headsets mostly to make phone calls.
Battery
I don’t know the battery size of the charging case or the headphones, but the battery performance is really good and better than many other buttons in the same price range. The Bluedio Hi Hurricane offers about 3-4 hours of playback on a single charge at 70-80% volume, which is great. The charging time is also very short and is about 2 hours for a full charge in the case of a recharge.
Note that the charging box does not automatically start charging the earphones – this must be done manually. The charging box charges the earphones about three times, which means a total play time of about 12 hours, which again is a good thing.
Sound quality
The Bluedio Hi Hurricane is equipped with a large 13 mm membrane speaker that produces a wide sound field. Mi AirDots Pro can only transmit audio with the Bluetooth SBC and AAC codec and does not support the high quality aptX codec. As for the sound quality, I have no complaints.
Listening to music of different styles proved enjoyable, with good separation between instruments and respectable reproduction with just the right amount of bass. The bass build-up is decent and handles high frequencies well, even at high volume. Overall, the tones are clean and well balanced.
The vowel node sounds good and even clear, even at high volume. So if watching a movie is your top priority, you won’t regret the sound quality of these headphones.
Final words
So, should we buy a real Bluedio Hi Hurricane wireless headphones? The sound quality they offer is quite good and they provide a comfortable fit. However, there are some important drawbacks to consider. The design doesn’t look good, the building materials used are cheap and the lack of magnets is not a good selling point. But if comfort and balanced sound quality are your priorities, choose these earphones.
