Game consoles are usually worth the human eye and game notebooks, so let’s not even talk about it!
If you are lucky enough to win Mega-Sena, and you can buy a slot machine that is so powerful – whether for money or for my slot machine, my life – that you can carry your gaming platform in a backpack, then you should think twice before investing your hard-earned money in such an expensive product.
The truth is that in gaming laptops, details such as design, brand and other parameters are not always factors that imply an improvement of the game – that is the main purpose of the device. Sometimes it’s better to buy a really well-equipped gaming device than to bet on one that has a light show. If you come from India, you can go to the best gamelaptop in India.
You should also bear in mind that not all hardware delivers the performance you need. Often a machine with a good enough configuration to carry a name like League of Legends won’t have to face more modern games like Ghost Recon Wildlands.
The mere thought of purchasing a powerful computer for your tasks may seem obvious. However, this advice is very important because devices designed for laptops usually have limitations, so the laptop’s processor does not always work in the same way as a desktop computer.
To make sure you’ve made the right choice, we’ve put together some useful tips to help you before you make a purchase in your favourite shop. It is important to note that in this article we focus on information about spare parts for laptops, but we do not give any recommendations about trademarks or designs.
Processors – Activities, models, specifications
Many players shout that the CPU has less influence on performance during the game. However, in our tests on desktop components, we have already proven that the CPU has a major impact on graphics processing – even the chipset and motherboard can differ in terms of game performance.
Yes, it is true that the CPU is not the most important component for excellent gaming performance, but choosing a model that is not very good at supporting the graphics card is important for a satisfying experience. So before you start thinking about which GPU to choose, you should take a break to better understand the CPU.
In the current scenario, given that it is November 2024, the vast majority of notebook gamers are equipped with Intel processors, so we will not go into the details of AMD chips. Usually you have three options for the components of game consoles: Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5 and Intel Core i7.
As you can imagine, this number in the series indicates the performance of the product. For example, the Intel Core i3 serves the incoming audience (but is already thinking about high performance), the Intel Core i5 focuses on more demanding activities (and should already be enough to keep up with reliable graphics cards), and the Intel Core i7 has the highest technology and performance.
Intel Core i3 and Core i5 – Entry-level gaming ladders
Well, since notebook manufacturers limit the ability to customize their devices, there’s a chance you won’t find a gaming notebook with an Intel Core i3 chip. While there are models that can even launch games (both with dedicated and embedded cards), this activity is not emphasized – many of them even include Intel Core i3 options.
If you want to enjoy lightweight gaming with a GeForce 940MX or similar older series, the Intel Core i3 or Intel Core i5 core can already meet your needs at entry level.
Now, if you really want high gaming performance, the offer is to buy a machine with at least one Intel Core i5 processor. However, it is useful to check the chip information carefully before entering your card details, as not all game elements work properly.
Intel Core i5 – Advanced Gaming Laptops
There are notebook models with two- or four-core Core i5 processors (they can handle up to four wires at a time, but models with four real cores work better).
For gaming, it is recommended to use the Intel Core i5-7300HQ – a quad-core processor with a clock speed of 2.5 GHz – or a more advanced model. Some machines use the Intel Core i5-7300U (note the similarity of the names), which is a dual-core 2.6 GHz clock.
It is worth mentioning that only these specifications can give a wrong impression, as the Intel Core i5-7300U has an even higher frequency, but it is worth looking at the technical product description for more details. Intel’s Core i5-7300HQ may even have a slower clock speed, but the quad-core processor and dual cache can make a big difference in the game.
A very important tip in this part of the processor is to follow the model suffixes. Components such as HQ or HK focus on high graphics performance (the K model has the advantage of being overclockable). The U-series products are more focused on low energy consumption.
Intel Core i7 – The best game laptops in theseries
With the above tips, you probably think it’s easy to go for the best performance on the Intel Core i7, don’t you? Well, there’s no point in just choosing the model of the i7 series and thinking that you get maximum performance, because even among these more powerful chips, there are components that are not necessarily the most suitable for gaming.
We also have a problem because, for example, Intel’s Core i7-7500U is not focused on the game. Although this is a very effective element, it is, as mentioned above, focused on energy saving. In particular, this processor has two cores and may not work as well as the Core i5-7300HQ.
When it comes to notebooks, the best options for maximum performance are the Intel Core i7-7700HQ, Intel Core i7-7820HK or Intel Core i7-7920HQ. All are quad-core models, can handle up to eight simultaneous streams and offer similar performance (only the i7-7700HQ loses in terms of reduced cache memory), so major changes occur because the clock is set differently in each room.
