Ajax’s player of the year last season Martinez is either the solid defender that Manchester United needs or the latest in a line of overpriced central defenders who’ll be turned on by the crowd. The connection between his signing and the latest manager of Manchester United is more than clear, and we have confidence he has the potential to be one of the major players this season.
Ten Hag knows and trusts him, but compared to the other players on this list, he’s not exactly the sort of signing to get the Old Trafford faithful too excited. However, a player whose name is not sensationalistic to the fans may start gathering popularity after the first couple of games.
#5 Arsenal – Gabriel Jesus

Expect no such issues at Arsenal. Fed by Saka and Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus should finally reach his full potential in the English game. Assuming of course that Arsenal doesn’t crumble as they so often have in recent years. He is a competent striker, who doesn’t need too many chances before he scores and goal. Since Arsenal is really in need of a goal machine, this move can sound like the right way to go, we shall see.
#4 Spurs – Yves Bissouma

Pedigree: Powerful midfield presence and a proven Premier League talent
Spurs fans might be excited by their capture of Richarlison, but adding another attacking option to Kane and Son doesn’t address the issues keeping Spurs from a title challenge. Bissouma though, ticks all the boxes.
Ask any Manchester United fan about Brighton’s 4-0 win over the Red Devils last season and they’ll tell you. Bissouma bossed the midfield. He’s also got a hell of a shot, quite precise and strong. Three goals in 100+ games for the Seagulls isn’t a great return, but all of his goals have been spectacular. Don’t buy Spurs tickets for his goals, but do buy them to see what he does to create space for Tottenham’s more creative players to shine.

Every football fan in England knows Raheem Sterling. He’s played for Liverpool and City and was a crucial part of the England side that finished runners-up at Euro 2020. Sterling knows how to win, and he’s been a crucial component in City’s domestic domination.
We should do more of the same at Stamford Bridge, where he’ll be expected to lay on chances for Chelsea’s attack while adding goals of his own as he cuts in from the wing. Sterling might not seem like the most exciting signing of the summer, but that’s because we’re all used to just how good he is. Sterling had an interesting career so far, and he wanted to increase the list of top-tier clubs he played for with Chelsea.

Exciting forwards who’ve won awards in Portugal? That reminds us of a young Cristiano Ronaldo signing for Manchester United. Nunez is lightning quick – comparable to Mbappe and Leroy Sane – and is big enough to mix it with the Premier League’s toughest defenders when the ball is played in the air.
Any other season, a quick, strong goalscorer with youth on his side would be a shoo-in for the signing of the season. But unfortunately for Liverpool, and its goalkeepers the league is over, this season someone else is set to terrify defenses even more. Many people were not impressed with his signing, but there are some signs that he might be one of the best things that have happened to Liverpool.
#1 Manchester City – Erling Haaland

Face it. If you’re buying Manchester City tickets this year, it’s because you want to watch Erling Haaland. Although dad Alfe-Inge turned out in the sky blue of City during the early 2000s, he was a workhorse midfielder and not the electrifying prodigy that young Erling is.
During his time in Austria with Red Bull Salzburg and Germany with Borussia Dortmund, Haaland has scored at a goal a game pace. And having just turned 22, there’s more to come from the Norwegian wunderkind. He doesn’t doubt he will need just a couple of matches before we can see a high number of goals and some exceptional performances.
He’s not just the most exciting signing for a top-six team this season, he’s possibly the most exciting Premier League signing of all time. And people will be flocking to snap up Premier League tickets just to see him.
